Game Time
Alright, you've made it to the interview phase, CONGRATULATIONS!
Most of the other applicants are home re-reading their rejection
letters, but you've made it to the most important part of the "gettin'
a job" process.
Take a deep breath, stay calm knowing that you've prepared for this.
Quick list of important stuff
Put yourself in the shoes of the people evaluating you; think about the
position you're seeking and what the employer might be looking
for; remember confidence, compatibility, capability, and
communication.
Go over in your mind
the questions and answers that you've learned.
Remember to smile and greet everyone with confidence.
Employers don't want grumpy people working
with them, nor people that are too hyperactive :)
Expect up to 8 questions per half hour
of interview, unless there is a written portion of the
examination, which will take
up some time. So, don't rush your answers, but get to the point.
Don't worry about the time, that's the interviewers' job.
If you're going for a technical job, like computer
technician, you might expect some type of practical application
test, such as component identification quiz or troubleshooting test.
Once, as a part of my interview, I had to review a budget and provide a presentation (with graphics) showing where money could be saved in a department...ALL WITHIN 30 MINUTES!
A wise military man told me once, "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best."
